Mayoral Taskforce for Economic Development

Purpose

The Mayor to provide sponsorship of an outside forum of industry leaders to pathway forward a new direction in economic growth of the District.

Operating Principles and Practices

• Not operated according to Standing Orders.

• Informal meeting with business sector representatives around an agreed list of discussion points.

• Six monthly reports to Council required.
  

Areas of Responsibility

Liaison with business sector heads to receive advice and work together to identify issues and barriers to growth, key strategies to advance growth and key future opportunities.

Delegated Authorities

• Facilitate workshops on economic growth.
• Co-ordinate investigative works within budget and with agreement of the Chief Executive.
