Draft Long Term Plan 2015-25
Council is developing its Long Term Plan for 2015-25. The LTP covers all the things Council does and how we pay for it. It is the key strategic planning document that Council develops. It sets out the ‘what, where, when, how and cost’ of all services and infrastructure that Ruapehu District Council (RDC) plans to provide over this period.
A Consultation Document is also being prepared, which highlights the key issues and options in the LTP associated with providing Council Services in a straightforward and accessible way. The Consultation Document includes financial and rating information and information about the challenges of providing core services - Land Transport, Water Supply, Wastewater, Stormwater and Flood Protection, Waste Management and Minimisation, Community Property and Community Facilities and Assets.
The Consultation Document will be released on 11 March. If you live in the Ruapehu District or are an out of district ratepayer, you will be sent a copy of the Consultation Document letting you know about the key issues in the Long Term Plan and how to make a submission.
There are a lot of underlying documents that support the information for the Long Term Plan and Consultation Document. That information will be released at the same time as the Consultation Document. Information includes the draft Long Term Plan 2015-25, Asset Management Plans and various other documents.
Council is keen to hear what you have to say about our proposed Plan and we encourage you to give us your feedback by making a submission during our consultation period in March-April.
- Council Adopt Consultation Document: 10 March
- Consultation period: Wednesday 11 March – Friday 17 April
- Hearings and Deliberations: 29, 30 April, 1 May (and 5 May if required)

We will be updating information about the LTP as we progress, or if target dates change. So keep an eye out on this page and Facebook.
