Key Projects/Achievements in 2009/10
- Notification of the new District PlanThe second year of meetings the Ruapehu District Maori Council
- A new basis of election and representation established for Community Boards
- SOLGM Supreme Award for Tourism initiatives.
- Rubbish entering the landfill is at the lowest levels since records were kept in 2002/03.
- Replacement of Taumarunui Street sewer in Taumarunui.
- Receiving station for sewage tankers established in Ohakune.
- Five successful mediation processes for Resource Consents.
- Three river valley meetings encouraging community input into road improvements.
- Realignment of 3km of Shorts Hill Ruatiti.
- New two lane bridge completed on Ohakune Mountain Road to replace single lane unit.
- Dobbs Bluff, Oio Road netting installed to protect traffic from falling rocks.
- Okahukura Road realigned from Ohura Road to the summit.
- Piriaka water scheme transferred to a community group.
- Ohakune water treatment plant Stage 3 completed.
- Ohura water treatment upgrade completed.
- Unsafe trees on Parapara Roadd in the centre of Raetihi felled.
