Abandoned Land and Rating Sales

Abandoned Land is land that the ratepayer has abandoned and has paid no rates for at least three years, often longer. The research as to the ownership of the land has been thorough and includes:

  • Notices on the properties.
  • Enquiries with the neighbours.
  • Checking with the Waitangi Tribunal.
 

Rating Sales

Ruapehu District Council acting under instructions from the Registrar of the High Court at Hamilton pursuant to the Local Government (Rating) Act 2002 offers for sale by tender:

  • The freehold property situated at Hikumutu Road, Taumarunui being more particularly described as an estate in fee simple as to a 1/11 share in that parcel of land comprising 8901 square meters more or less, being described as Part Section 28 Block 1 Hunua Survey District being the land comprised in Certificate of Title WN37A/423 (Wellington Registry). The property is zoned as Rural and there are no improvements on the land.
  • The freehold property situated at 226 Miro Street, Taumarunui being more particularly described as an estate in fee simple in that parcel of land comprising 820 square meters more or less, being described as Lot 2 Deposited Plan 10672 being the land comprised in Certificate of Title WN445/289 (Wellington Registry). The property is zoned as Part Residential/Commercial consisting of a dwelling, other buildings and other improvements on the land.

Tenders shall be submitted in a sealed envelope marked “Attention Mike Douglas” with the address of the property noted thereon by 4:00pm on 28 November 2014

Rating Sale Notice - Sale of Freehold Property at 16 Williams Avenue, Ohura

Ruapehu District Council acting under instructions from the Registrar of the High Court at Hamilton pursuant to the Local Government (Rating) Act 2002 offers for sale by tender the freehold property situated at 16 Williams Avenue, Ohura being more particularly described as an estate in fee simple in that parcel of land comprising 1022 square meters more or less, being described as Lot 14 Deposited Plan 6904 being the land comprised in Certificate of Title TNG1/713 (Taranaki Registry).

The property is zoned as Urban Settlement Zone consisting of a dwelling and other improvements on the land.
