Domestic Animal Shelter

Cycleways

Council approved the construction of a new shelter for animals in 2010.

Located in the Central North Island, the Mountains to Sea Cycleway is a linear 245km multiple day ride from National Park to Wanganui over 4-6 days. 

Youth/MSD Partnership

Central Business District Improvements

Council has obtained MSD funding to develop a project to provide support to help transition youth into work.

Council is working alongside local businesses to improve the overall look of the CBD areas, especially in Raetihi and Taumarunui.

There are currently two large capital work projects under way, The Okahukura Saddle Road seal extension and the Pipiriki/Whanganui River Road seal extension.

Council will launch the High Flying Investor project in July 2011 at the new Knoll Ridge café on Whakapapa ski field, Mt. Ruapehu.
