Area of Responsibility
Develop a draft flood mitigation strategy that identifies and evaluates options for dealing with the flood risk to Ohura township.
Work with Horizons Regional Council, Department of Internal Affairs and Ministry of Civil Defence and Emergency Management in the development of the strategy and its implementation.
Lead Council’s consultation with the Ohura community on the draft flood mitigation strategy.
Following public consultation, finalise the Ohura Flood Mitigation Strategy.
Audit and report on the activities of the former Ohura Flood Mayoral Relief Fund.
Administer the funds transferred from the former Ohura Flood Mayoral Relief Fund.
Delegated Authorities
Delegated authority to spend all funds transferred to Council from the former Ohura Flood Mayoral Relif fund subject to the authority to apply the funds transferred to Council from the former Ohura Flood Mayoral Relief Fund is subject to the condition that the Ohura Flood Mitigation Committee first develop and agree with Council the Eligibility Criteria and Distribution Policy to be used for the purpose of any such distribution.
