Chat Space

Consultation and engagement is a key function of councils without which we would be unable to support our community's aspirations. Next year Council will be asking Ruapehu communities to tell us what they think about our plans and directions for the next ten year period (2018-2028) in our new Long Term Plan (LTP).

Before we start that conversation we would like to know what is on your minds and what you think Council should include, leave out, or take into account in the 2018-28 LTP.

To help achieve this Council's Policy Team is running a series of ‘Chat Spaces’ around the district that will go towards planning for the LTP. Pre-engagement is also useful for helping to answer questions and dispel myths and misunderstandings about what Council is and does.

Increasingly, more councils are undertaking this type of pre-engagement to help define the issues that are important to their communities and help ensure that when they do go out for consultation everyone is on the same page as to the key issues, vision and direction.

We would like to invite you to join us at one of our Chat Space events to talk with us over a coffe or tea about all things Ruapehu and what is important to you.

Please find below the Chat Space timetable and the people currently scheduled to be at each Chat Space. Please note Council Staff and Councillors attanding each Chat Space may be subject to change.
