Social Policy

Decisions Council makes can have significant social impact, and it is important that Council considers any impacts on the community as it makes decisions. The Social Policy is designed to help guide Council in its decision making. It requires Council to consider the impacts of its policies on our communities.

Over the last year we have been developing a Social Policy which will guide staff and elected members in planning and decision making. At the moment the policy is in draft form for public consultation. We value feedback from our community in the development and refinement of important policies so we invite you to read the draft and tell us what you think.

The deadline for feedback is 25 August 2017.

A copy of the Social Policy can be found via this link.

You can submit online via the feedback form, email or write to:

After 25 August 2017 we will collate the feedback we have received and incorporate any changes to the draft as required. The amended draft will then go to Council in September for adoption. In your feedback, please let us know if you would like a copy of the final policy after adoption.
