District Plan

 

district planThe purpose of the District Plan is to assist Council to promote the sustainable management of natural and physical resources. The District Plan contains the “rules” of the District. It explains what activities are allowed and what activities require consent. The District Plan was operative on 8 May 2000.Copies of the District Plan and Planning Maps are available to view at libraries and Council Offices in the District. Copies can also be purchased (see Fees and Charges Manual for cost) by contacting the Customer Services Team on (07) 895 8188, or by clicking here to send email.

District Plan Review

The Ruapehu District Plan was made operative on 8 May 2000. Council is therefore preparing for its ten year review. Initial research and in-house meetings are currently being undertaken. Public consultation will take place for part of the review process. However, this will be at a later stage, once the background research and analysis has been done.
