Ngā Huinga Cherry Grove works for week commencing 13 Dec 2021
PATH CLOSED DURING WORKING HOURS FROM RUGBY CLUB TO PICNIC AREA AT DOC HUT
RDC & Horizons are coppicing (cutting close to ground level) the poplars along the Ongarue River at Ngā Huinga Cherry Grove, as part of our joint plan to make room for native plantings along the River. We are chipping on site and this will be used as mulch for RDC projects and the hot composting unit.
Our contractor is operating heavy machinery and for your safety, we have decided that during working hours the path will be closed. Our contractor has placed signs and spotters at the start of the cycle way at the Rugby Club and at the picnic area near the DOC hut to ensure that you are informed and safe during their operating hours.
If the weather is forgiving, these works will be complete by the end of the week
