A vision for Ohakune
Ruapehu District Council in partnership with Ngāti Rangi and Ohakune Incorporated (formed as Ohakune 2000 Inc.) has been working with the recently formed Future Ohakune Reference Group (made up of representatives from the community, Ngāti Rangi, big and small local businesses and farming and market gardeners) to establish some initial ideas and to propose some potential objectives, initiatives and projects for the future of Ohakune.
These ideas have been workshopped by the Future Ohakune Reference Group and were presented to the community with an 'Open Day Info Event' over the 23rd and 24th of October 2020, held at Council's Ayr St office in Ohakune. Over 120 people attended over the two days. The event provided the opportunity for people to engage with the process and discuss and provide feedback on the proposed concepts.
Community Survey - your feedback helps ensure the best outcome.
The Future Ohakune Reference Group would now like to expand the opportunity for more people to have their say via a community survey. We would love to hear what you think of the ideas. Are there things we have missed? Do you feel some things should be prioritised over others?
The outcome of this process will influence council's Long Term Planning Process and ensure funding is set aside for the things the community feel is most important.
