All Council meetings and workshops including any Community Board, Ward Committee or Maori Council meetings are generally open to the public, unless there is a reason for public to be excluded.
Council, Committee and Community Board meetings are run in accordance with Standing Orders as adopted at the beginning of the triennium.

Participation in Meetings
Meetings are currently being held through a combination of electronic and physical means. The public are welcome to join in these. For details on how to participate in the meetings electronically go to How to join a meeting electronically.

Meetings will also be live streaming on Council Facebook and recordings available following the meeting at Meeting Video Archive.
A Public Forum will be held at the beginning of the meeting. If you wish to address the board on any matters, please contact our Governance Officer ([email protected].nz) beforehand.
You can also continue to talk with your Elected Representatives about any issues that concern you.
Council, Community Board and Taumarunui/Ohura Ward Committee meetings are routinely held as follows:
- Ruapehu District Council - three weekly on a Wednesday at 10am- six weekly on a Tuesday (excluding January) at 5.30pm.- first Thursday of the month (excluding January) at 6.00pm.- last Thursday of every second month at 10.00am.
Council often holds other meetings as part of consultation on specific issues or community engagement.
