NZ Police have warned that in just one month Ruapehu residents lost over $100,000 to online scammers.
This is only what was reported with the real losses very likely to be much higher.

Come along to one of our FREE seminars in Ohakune, Raetihi or Taumarunui and learn essential tips and tricks to safeguard yourself online.
The seminars are provided by Ruapehu District Libraries in conjunction with Adrian Leineweber from PC Solutions and the Police. They are designed to offer something for all ages and confidence levels from computer safety, passwords, mobile phones, landline and email scams, and practical tips for keeping safe with online purchasing amongst other useful tips and skills. People attending will learn simple, practical skills needed to protect themselves from online scams.
