Social Housing is suitable for people who are retired and want to live independently. Interest can be registered by completing a Social Housing Application Form. The process involves an interview, landlord and character references, etc. Once this is successfully completed the applicants name is placed on a waiting list. In many cases applicants can be housed immediately. All information supplied on the application form is treated in strict confidence.
Two weeks rent in advance is required on confirmation of the tenancy. In addition, a bond to the equivalent of two weeks rental is also required.

Some on-site parking is provided for tenants. Some complexes have garages or carports. There is a weekly charge for garages.
The buildings are maintained by Council to a good standard. The grounds around the units are maintained by Council contractors. Most units are provided with a small garden for tenants to use. These are barked if the tenant does not wish to maintain it.
