Cycle Tourism Summit - October 2015

The New Zealand Cycleway Project was launched in 2009.  The regional development project was driven by central and local government.

The Ruapehu District has had two Great Rides developed in the region - the Mountains to the Sea and the Timber Trail.  Both have had a positive impact on the Central North Island.

Five years on, an inaugural Cycle Tourism Summit was held at the Chateau Tongariro in October 2015.  The Summit aimed to map out a plan for the next five years, to ensure that Ruapehu cycle tourism continues to grow and that the industry can fully capitalise on the opportunities available to it.

The Summary Notes from the Summit are available below, together with presentations from key speakers.
