Events Coordinator
Ohakune/ Raetihi or Taumarunui Based.
Fixed Term until April 2026.
20 hours per week.
The Events Coordinator will bring together the resources required to deliver maximum beneficial outcomes for all involved when hosting an event within the Ruapehu region. A vital member of the team, ensuring outstanding service if provided to event customers. This would include:
- The smooth running of the event process within Ruapehu District Council.
- The continued and improved usage of all district wide parks and reserves, venues.
- Good customer service feedback is obtained and retained from Event Organizers
- Stakeholder engagement within the sector is monitored.
- Signage and information related to events is kept up to date and relevant.
- Maximise sales and marketing of events to external stakeholders.
- Events run smoothly, with a focus on health and safely.
To be successful in this role, it would be preferable to have previous event coordinator experience and/or a relevant industry qualification. Analytical skills would be advantageous. Excellent communication and organisation skills and a passion for events in the Ruapehu District.

We are looking for a customer focused team player to join our busy Ohakune team. You will have a positive attitude and loads of enthusiasm ensuring the customer experience is exceptional as you will be expected to share and promote our district to visitors.
The successful applicant will have:
- Previous customer service experience.
- Local knowledge of the Ruapehu and surrounding regions.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate IT / digital platforms with confidence i.e. booking systems and databases.
- Experience in sales, cash handling and receipting.
- Ability to multitask under pressure.
Our Visitor consultants are required to hold or obtain National Certificates in New Zealand Tourism and be willing to experience the adventures our visitors come to enjoy. You must have a current driver's license.
Full training will be provided.

Regulatory Assistant
TAUMARUNUI
20 hours per week.
A key administrative support role responsible for providing assistance to the Executive Manager, the Planning team and the wider regulatory and customer services team.
Are you an experienced and proficient administrator looking for an exciting new opportunity?
As an experienced administrator, you’ll have a strong background in providing and meeting good practice administration. You’ll also be savvy with software packages and have the ability to learn new technology, software and processes. Knowledge and prior experience with local government, resource management planning and legislation would be an advantage.
You’ll be coordinating and recording meetings, electronic filing of emails and preparing correspondence. You will be organised and be able to pay attention to detail and prioritise well. You’ll also be supporting the Planning team with processes associated with the Resource Management Act 1991 including administration and coordination assistance for processing of subdivisions and land use resource consents.
