ANZAC Day Services 2025

ANZAC Day on 25th April is the opportunity to honour and remember those who have served in the armed services or supported the country during the First and Second World Wars, as well as subsequent events such as the Korean and Vietnam Wars.

The ANZAC services will take place as follows:

• WAIMIHA 11:00AM Service - Waimiha Sports Club. The public is invited to bring stories, songs, poems to contribute and flowers or a wreath from the garden. Service followed by a shared lunch.

• MATIERE 11:00AM Service - Town Hall, Matiere. Service followed by a cup of tea and light refreshments at Cosmopolitan Club.

• TAUMARUNUI 5:45AM Dawn Parade and Service - 5:45AM March from RSA to Wayside Cross. 6:00AM - Dawn Service at Wayside Cross. The public is advised that two rounds of gunfire will be discharged in the vicinity of the Taumarunui Domain at approximately 6:15AM.
• TAUMARUNUI 9:00AM Service - Golf Road New Cemetery.
• MANUNUI 9:45AM Service - Manunui Cemetery, Mahoe.

• OWHANGO 10:00AM Service -Owhango Hall. Members of the public are welcome to participate with a reading or poem. Service followed by morning tea.
• WAIMARINO NATIONAL PARK 5:45AM Dawn Service - 5:45am at the Memorial Monument of the Legion of Frontiersmen. John Visser (Dutchy) will conduct the order of service - please assemble at 5:45am.
• RAETIHI 7:00AM Dawn Parade and Service – 7:00AM at The Centre, Seddon Street, then march to the two cemeteries. The service will include the laying of wreaths at the two cemeteries, followed by a breakfast at the Raetihi Cosmopolitan Club.
• OHAKUNE 10:00AM Service - Memorial Gates, Clyde Street.

• WAIOURU 6:00AM Camp Dawn Service - 6:00AM at Freyberg Street, Waiouru Military Camp. Those wishing to attend will require a recognised form of identification (Driver's licence, passport, etc.) and will need to allow time for security checks on entry to the camp.
• WAIOURU 11:00AM Civic Service - National Army Museum, State Highway 1.
• WAIOURU 1:00PM - Live Gallipoli Diary Readings, National Army Museum, State Highway 1.

All services take place rain or shine. There may be some traffic disruption. If you are feeling unwell please stay home.
