Asbestos Information for Contractors
The Health and Safety at Work (Asbestos) Regulations 2016 requires Ruapehu District Council (RDC) to have an Asbestos Management Plan (AMP) in place for all RDC buildings. Council's AMP is currently in draft form and is available on request.
Please contact Council for a copy of the Asbestos Management Plan.
Council also has an Asbestos Register which contains current information about the presence and condition of any asbestos in Council owned buildings. The Asbestos Register is updated following inspections and as new information comes to hand. A copy of Council's Asbestos Register is provided in the document links at the bottom of this page.
The options for the disposal of asbestos-containing material are dependent on the quantities being disposed. For information on disposal of asbestos containing materials please contact Council.
Further information on asbestos and its management can be found on the New Zealand WorkSafe website.
