Ruapehu District Council’s Head Librarian Fiona Thomas is encouraging all library users to take part in the Library Community Impact Survey, developed by Public Libraries New Zealand.
“The survey is an important opportunity for people to share what they value most about our local libraries and the services, spaces, and programmes we offer,” said Ms Thomas.
“Participating is vital because it gives us meaningful insight into how our libraries make a difference in people’s lives - from helping children learn and supporting lifelong education, to providing safe, welcoming spaces for connection and creativity.”
Ms Thomas said the results will help libraries across Aotearoa New Zealand, including Ruapehu, better understand community needs and measure their impact.
“They help us tell a powerful story about the role libraries play in building connected, informed, and resilient communities, and ensure we continue delivering services that truly matter,” she said.
“The feedback also helps us advocate more effectively for the future of our libraries both locally and nationally.”
Completing the survey is easy.
People can drop by their local library to fill it out, or answer online via Council’s website or Facebook page.
You can also scan the QR code in the ad appearing in your local paper.
“If anyone has any issues or questions, just come and see us at your local library where we will be happy to help,” Ms Thomas added.
