Elected Members Remuneration & Expenses Policy

The Remuneration Authority (the Authority) is responsible for setting allowances and hearing fees for members of local authorities as set out in Clause 6 of Schedule 7 of the Local Government Act 2002.

Current allowances and fees include:

1. Vehicle kilometre allowance
2. Travel time allowance
3. ICT allowances
4. Childcare allowance
5. Hearing fees

The Authority rules requires the Council’s approved allowances for local government members to be included in its members' expenses, allowances and reimbursement policy or similarly named policy, and the policy must be published on the Council’s website.
