The Drinking Water Services Assessment provides a high-level, GIS-based evaluation of access to drinking water services across the Ruapehu District.
The purpose of the Assessment is to inform Council about access each community has to drinking water services, including sufficiency, safety and resilience.
It covers Council-operated drinking water supplies, as well as private and community-owned or operated supplies, including both registered and known unregistered systems.
The Drinking Water Services Assessment is produced every three-years and will remain the responsibility of Council following the establishment of the new Water Services Council Controlled Organisation (WS-CCO) with Whanganui District Council which will be responsible for drinking water delivery from 1 July 2027.
Future Assessments are likely to include schemes not captured in this Assessment including smaller private supplies, marae, etc.
