The Packaging Forum's Soft Plastic Recycling Scheme lets New Zealanders recycle plastic bags and wrappers. This recycling service is paid for by Soft Plastic Recycling Scheme members including brands, manufacturers, retailers and service providers.
Soft plastics such as plastic bags/wrappers, frozen food bags, grocery bags, chip packets, bread bags, glad wrap and bubble wrap can be recycled using the Soft Plastic Recycling system. All soft plastic needs to be removed from trays and clean.
Unfortunately, there are currently no participating stores in Ruapehu. The closest in-store locations are:

More and more brands are now putting the soft plastic 'Recycle At Store' logo on their packaging. Look for the ‘Recycle At Store’ logo to aid identification of recyclable soft plastic.
